The MOL Leadership Institute (MOLLI) is a project of MarylandOnline (MOL). MOL is a consortium of colleges and universities in Maryland focused on promoting and supporting online learning through ongoing training and collaboration. The goals of the Institute are to:
Our Keynote Speaker: Dr. M.J. Bishop
Dr. M.J. Bishop is Associate Vice Chancellor and inaugural director of the University System of Maryland's William E. Kirwan Center for Academic Innovation, which was established in 2013 to enhance and promote USM's position as a national leader in higher education academic innovation. The Center conducts research on best practices, disseminates findings, offers professional development opportunities for institutional faculty and administrators, and supports the 12 public institutions that are part of the system as they continue to expand innovative academic practices.
Wednesday Dinner Speaker: Dr. James D. Fielder, Jr.
Secretary James D. Fielder, Jr., Maryland's Secretary of Higher Education, is a highly regarded executive and public servant with a passion for leading change that is focused on improving the economic well-being of Marylanders through educational and business opportunity. He has served four Maryland governors, lending his talents and expertise in numerous leadership capacities.
Thursday Featured Speaker: Dr. Robbie K. Melton
Dr. Melton is the former Associate Vice Chancellor of Emerging Technology for the Tennessee Board of Regents. In that role she served as chief system administrator with oversight of the system’s strategic planning for online programs (Regents Online Degree Programs). She is currently a tenured professor at Tennessee State University, addressing the Internet of Things (IOT), smart connected tech nologies, as a researcher, technology evaluator, and faculty trainer for teaching and workforce training, as well as P.I. for two national technology grants. Dr. Melton is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, both national and international. Dr. Melton will be the Featured Speaker on Thursday.
Dr. Lawrence Ragan
Dr. Ragan retired from Penn State University after serving in a variety of leadership positions over his 34 year career in higher education. Dr. Ragan was a part of the creation and management of Penn State's World Campus since its inception in 1998. Dr. Ragan served as Director for Instructional Design and the Director for Academic Outreach Faculty Development. From 2012 to 2016 Dr. Ragan served as the Co-Director for the Center for Online Innovation in Learning (COIL) at Penn State University where he directed the Center's mission of research, scholarship, technology innovation, and leadership development programming. Dr. Ragan served as co-director and faculty of the EDUCAUSE Learning Technology Leadership Institute (2005-2007). From 2009 to 2017, Dr. Ragan served as the Co-Director of the Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning (IELOL). In partnership with the leadership at the Online Learning Consortium (OLC), IELOL addresses the operational and strategic leadership on the design and development and preparation of the next-generation of leadership in online learning. Dr. Ragan also serves on national and international leadership development programs including the MarylandOnline Leadership Institute (MOLLI) and the Diplomado Internacional de Formación de Líderes en Educación a Distancia.
Ms. Jessica Young, Co-facilitator and Institute Faculty, has nine years of experience in higher education, serving in multiple roles including academic advising, instructional design, and faculty professional development. In her current role as Assistant Director of Distributed Learning at Frederick Community College, she designs and develops faculty professional development centered around technology and innovation in teaching and learning.

The application includes three parts:
The Institute is subsidized by MarylandOnline, but individual participants or their institutions are responsible for a registration fee.
Pricing is all-inclusive. The registration fee pays for participation in the Institute plus lodging, meals, and all special activities.

|Non-MOL or QM institutions||$1,000|
Special team pricing: MOL and QM institutions are eligible for team pricing as follows: $900 for one; $1,350 for two; $1,800 for three; $2,250 for four.
